Terms of Service
Last updated September 23, 2026
These terms cover your use of Dunnhawk, a service that helps subscription businesses recover failed payments. By creating an account or connecting your Stripe account, you agree to them. If you're agreeing on behalf of a company, you confirm you're allowed to bind that company.
1. What Dunnhawk does
When a subscription payment fails in your connected Stripe account, Dunnhawk sends reminder emails to the affected subscriber on your behalf, with a link to a Stripe-hosted page where they can update their payment method. Dunnhawk stops emailing once the invoice is paid, the subscription is canceled, or the subscriber unsubscribes.
2. Your account and your Stripe connection
- You must give accurate sign-up information and keep your login email secure.
- You authorize Dunnhawk to access your Stripe account through Stripe's own authorization flow, to read invoice and customer information needed to recover failed payments, and to create billing-portal sessions for your subscribers.
- You can disconnect Stripe at any time from your dashboard or from your Stripe settings. Recovery stops when you disconnect.
3. Your responsibilities
- You confirm you have the right to contact your subscribers about their payments, and that doing so is consistent with your own terms and privacy policy.
- You won't use Dunnhawk to send marketing, misleading, threatening or unlawful messages.
4. Fees
- Dunnhawk has two monthly plans, billed in advance through Stripe in USD: Starter ($29.99/month) for connected Stripe accounts with up to $10,000 in monthly recurring revenue (MRR), and Pro ($59.99/month) for up to $50,000 MRR. Applicable taxes may be added.
- We measure your connected account's MRR once a day from your active and past-due Stripe subscriptions (non-USD amounts are converted at approximate rates). If you go above your plan's limit, we'll email you and give you 14 days. If you're still above the Starter limit after that, we'll move you to Pro automatically; the price difference is prorated on your next invoice. Above the Pro limit, service continues and we'll contact you about an Enterprise arrangement.
- You can switch plans anytime from your dashboard. Upgrades take effect immediately and are prorated; downgrades credit the unused portion to your next invoice.
- Recovery emails only run while your plan is active. The Leak Audit is free and does not require a plan.
- You can cancel anytime from your dashboard. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and we don't refund partial months.
- Dunnhawk does not take a percentage of recovered revenue.
4a. API and in-app lockout
- Pro includes an API and webhooks that report whether one of your subscribers has an unpaid, failed renewal. Keep API keys and webhook signing secrets confidential; you're responsible for activity using your keys. Revoke a key immediately if it leaks.
- Dunnhawk only reports payment status. Whether and how you restrict a subscriber's access is your decision and your responsibility toward your own customers. Lockout is off until you turn it on.
- Don't use the API to overload our service; requests are rate limited per key. We may suspend keys used abusively.
- The update popup (Pro) lets your subscribers enter a new card that is saved on your connected Stripe account and used to pay their overdue invoices right away and future renewals. You authorize Dunnhawk to make those Stripe calls on your behalf when a subscriber submits the popup. Card attempts are rate limited to prevent card testing.
5. Card data
Payment details are entered only in forms hosted by Stripe (its hosted pages, or Stripe's card field inside the Dunnhawk popup). Dunnhawk never receives, sees or stores full card numbers.
6. Availability and changes
We work to keep Dunnhawk running reliably but don't guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change or improve the service. We'll give you at least 30 days' notice by email of any change to pricing.
7. Ending the service
You can stop using Dunnhawk at any time by disconnecting Stripe and emailing us to close your account. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms. Fees for recoveries made before the account closes remain payable.
8. Liability
Dunnhawk is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, Dunnhawk is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost revenue that was not recovered, or actions taken by Stripe or your subscribers. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
